Madness!

I’m a sucker for romantic comedies.

And I was really intrigued with the title of the film and the fact that the lead character owns a video store called GUMSHOE! Loved it. And the “film noir” detective scenes were fab.

This was an okay romantic comedy. It tries too hard to be “quirky” but most of the time it works. I think Lucy Liu as Violet is over the top sometimes but hey, she’s cute and she can pull off cute alright. She’s tiny so she has the advantage of acting pa-cute and all. Her character is soo annoying at times but Cillian Murphy’s cuteness makes up for that :)

So yeah, he’s basically the best part of the film. Cillian Murphy! Cillian Murphy and his character, Neil!!! I’m not really a huge fan of him before watching the film. The only other film I’ve seen of his is Batman Begins. And he played a pretty disgusting/creepy character in it. Hot, but creepy.

I think I’m going to try watching his other movies. He doesn’t do much in the movie, besides look hot and geeky, especially during the rock concert scene. So hot. Ok, enough drooling.
